Prefects / Class Monitors
Handbooka) Parents/Guardians should make full use of the Student Handbook to maintain close contact with the school and the Form Teacher.
b) All students from S.1 to S.3 must purchase the Student Handbook. Parents or guardians should check and sign the handbook weekly.
Homeworka) Students must complete assignments assigned by teachers in their exercise books. Homework lists will also be uploaded to the school website. Parents/Guardians are reminded to ensure their children complete homework on time.
b) Students who fail to submit homework on time will be handled by the respective subject teachers. Students who fail to meet the extension requirements set by the subject teacher will be jointly handled by the Form Teacher, the Learning Support Team, the Discipline Committee, and the Counseling Team. The school will contact parents/guardians to discuss more effective learning support plans based on the actual situation.
c) Students who repeatedly fail to submit homework will not be allowed to participate in extracurricular activities.
Punctualitya) Students must arrive at their classrooms before the first bell rings; otherwise, they will be considered late. The school will notify parents/guardians as soon as possible.
b) S.1 to S.4 students must return to their classrooms by 1:30 PM during lunch break. Latecomers will be handled by the Discipline Committee.
c) Students must attend morning assembly in their classrooms every morning, followed by roll call conducted by the Form Teacher.
d) If a student is absent for a valid reason, their parents/guardians should notify the school by phone before class begins. On the day of the student’s return, an explanation letter signed by the parents/guardians must be submitted to the Form Teacher.
e) If a student is late due to special weather conditions or traffic situations, the school will handle the leave application accordingly.
f) Students should develop the habit of “early to bed, early to rise.” It is recommended that students arrive at school before 8:10 AM to prepare for classes.
g) Students who are repeatedly late will not be allowed to participate in extracurricular activities.






Discipline
a) Appearance:
Students must wear the appropriate school uniform, keeping it clean and neat. Students must adhere to the school’s standards regarding the style, color, material, and size of the uniform.
When the temperature drops to 16°C or below, students may wear a navy blue or black down jacket.
Students may wear a plain white, black, or navy blue scarf as part of the winter uniform.
When the Cold Weather Warning is in force, girls may wear tracksuits to school, or wear navy blue or white knee-high socks instead of black socks.
Students must not dye or perm their hair.
Girls with hair longer than shoulder-length must tie it up neatly with black hair ties or rubber bands. Fringes must not touch the eyebrows, and hair on the sides must not cover the ears. It is recommended that students have straight-cut fringes or use black hair clips to secure the hair on both sides.
Boys should not have long hair. Their fringes should not touch their eyebrows or the nape of the neck. Sideburns should taper gradually and not extend beyond half the length of the ear. Unconventional hairstyles are not permitted.
The hem of the girls’ school uniform skirt must be at least 2.5 cm below the knee.
Students should wear black leather shoes (high heels, suede, patent leather, boots, or sneakers are not allowed). Students should not wear invisible socks or socks with shoelaces or logos.
Earrings are not allowed.
Students should maintain personal hygiene. Fingernails must not be too long (free edge not exceeding 2mm) or painted with nail polish. Makeup is prohibited.
Students should not bring any items irrelevant to learning to school.
School bags should be simple and practical, without decorative accessories.
b) PE Trousers, SHSS Pullover, and Jacket:
Students should wear the school PE trousers during track and field competitions, Christmas celebrations, field trips, and extracurricular activities on or off campus.
The school uniform sweater must be a navy blue V-neck style, available in long-sleeve or sleeveless designs. Knitted cardigans are not accepted. The school uniform sweater must be knitted with wool (or blended) yarn and feature the MFS embroidered logo. Oversized sweaters or sweaters of other designs and materials are not allowed.
Clothing other than the SHSS pullover and jacket is not accepted and should not be brought to school.
Any self-designed class T-shirts or school team uniforms must be approved by the school in advance. Students may only wear school-approved attire on campus and at school-sponsored events.
If parents encounter financial difficulties in purchasing school uniforms, please inform the Form Teacher promptly so that assistance can be arranged.
c) Uniform Requirements for School Holidays/Events:
Tutorial Classes: Students must wear the full summer or winter uniform, black leather shoes, and black socks.
Extracurricular Activities: Students must wear the full summer/winter uniform or PE uniform (school T-shirt with sports pants).
d) Conduct:
Students should behave appropriately in school and public places, speak and act prudently, and abide by the laws of Hong Kong at all times.
Students must not participate in behaviors or activities that violate local regulations. Special attention must be paid to complying with the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Safeguarding National Security, the National Flag Law of the People’s Republic of China, and the National Anthem Law of the People’s Republic of China. Any behavior or activity that endangers or undermines national security is strictly prohibited, as is any disrespect towards the National Flag or National Anthem.
Students should respect all symbols representing our state, government, school, and religious beliefs (e.g., National Anthem, National Flag, Regional Flag, School Anthem, School Flag, religious items, etc.). Any student failing to comply with this rule will face disciplinary action.
Students should wear the appropriate school uniform when attending tutorial classes and special school activities.
School uniforms must not be worn at any non-school-sponsored events or activities. Wearing the school uniform or using school emblems at any such occasion requires prior approval from the Principal.
Mobile Phonesa) Students are not allowed to use mobile phones on campus without approval.
b) Students are not allowed to use mobile phones during outings (e.g., school picnics, sports days, visits, etc.) without the teacher’s consent.
c) Students must obtain a teacher’s permission if they need to use a mobile phone in an emergency.
Prohibited ItemsStudents must not bring any items irrelevant to learning to school. Examples include cameras, MD players, CDs, game consoles, comic books, bracelets, etc. The school will confiscate these items and notify the relevant students’ parents or guardians to collect them in person, or return them to the students at the end of the term. Possession of prohibited items will be recorded as misconduct.
LockersStudents using school lockers should abide by the following rules:
a) Lockers are school property, and students are responsible for keeping them clean and intact.
b) The school will assign lockers to students. Students should not share or exchange lockers with each other.
c) Valuables, sportswear, food, or items irrelevant to learning should not be stored in lockers. If necessary, the school may request to inspect the lockers. Lockers should be locked, and spare keys will be kept by the Form Teacher for emergencies.
d) Students should retrieve items from their lockers before the first period, during breaks, or at lunchtime. Lockers should not be opened during lessons.
Extra-Curricular Activitiesa) The school organizes school-related and sponsored activities to promote students’ psychological, moral, and physical development, aiming to achieve the goal of holistic education. Students should perform well academically and maintain a proper balance between study and sports, performance, conduct, and activity participation. When students fail to achieve the expected balance, the school will rearrange their assigned activities and tasks. Parents/Guardians should inform the Form Teacher if they notice any issues with their child’s participation in extracurricular activities.
b) Students who consistently fail to comply with academic assignments or discipline policies and rules will be prohibited from participating in extracurricular activities.
Home EducationHome education is crucial to a child’s growth. Parents/Guardians should pay attention to their child’s behavior, report any misconduct to the school immediately, and strengthen parent-child communication. Parents/Guardians should serve as role models for their children.
Communication with the SchoolWhen the school identifies student misconduct or academic issues, their subject teachers or Form Teachers will coordinate with the Counseling/Discipline Team to find solutions. If parents/guardians discover problems with their child’s learning and behavior at home, they may also contact the school for assistance.
