St. Hilary\u2019s Secondary School (Shenzhen) firmly believes that quality whole-person education extends beyond the classroom into every space of students’ lives. We are committed to creating a safe, healthy, warm, and supportive dormitory environment where students can cultivate self-discipline, social skills, and a sense of belonging while learning to live independently. We aim to make the dormitory their “second home” on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dormitory spaces are designed with a student-centred approach, balancing privacy and shared areas, as well as study and leisure needs. Both boys’ and girls’ dormitories feature four-person rooms with independent toilets and shower facilities, adopting an apartment-style management system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u4e00\u3001Girls’ Dormitory Introduction<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The girls’ dormitory offers two room types:1.Loft-style bed with desk underneath 2.Bunk beds<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Loft-style bed with desk underneath:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  • The elevated bed creates a relatively private corner, forming an independent personal space. When students wish to have quiet time alone or need to study, this setup reduces unintentional interruptions. Each student can have their own “little world.”<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • This design also provides more storage space. Bookshelves are located on the wall above the desk for convenient storage of books and daily items. Wardrobes are typically designed beside the desk for storing clothing and miscellaneous items.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      The boys’ dormitory offers one room type: loft-style bed with desk underneath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Each boys’ dormitory room is equipped with an independent toilet and shower room, located near the entrance. This clearly separates the sleeping area from the activity area, minimizing noise to the greatest extent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        The dormitory also features public activity areas equipped with sofas, pantry facilities, and other basic living amenities. These spaces provide venues for student interaction, encouraging them to communicate, engage, and grow together. Teachers also regularly organise dormitory activities to enrich dormitory life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \u56db\u3001Laundry Services<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        The dormitory has a dedicated laundry room with laundry staff responsible for students’ daily laundry needs. This greatly facilitates student life and avoids issues of queuing and conflicts related to laundry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \u4e94\u3001Dormitory Rules<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        The dormitory operates under a strict management system designed to maintain overall stability and order, ensuring student safety. Dormitory management requirements are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        1\u3001Conscientiously abide by the school’s student apartment management system, follow the scheduled rest times, go to bed and wake up on time. Do not create chaos in the room, do not change beds without permission, and do not engage in activities that disturb others’ rest or study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        2\u3001Follow the arrangements and management of the houseparent and dormitory leader. Roommates shall respect, help, and live harmoniously with one another, speak courteously, treat others politely, and maintain unity and friendship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        3\u3001All dormitory members must, according to uniform requirements and standards, organize their bedding, align their shoes properly, arrange their toiletries neatly, place their water bottles properly, and avoid hanging clothes carelessly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        4\u3001Members shall be united and helpful, speak elegantly, avoid vulgar jokes or conversations, refrain from using others’ belongings without permission, and abstain from stealing others’ property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        5\u3001Conscientiously maintain indoor cleanliness and tidiness. Do not dine in the dormitory, do not spit, litter, dump waste or sewage indiscriminately. Do not dismantle beds without authorization, do not scribble on walls, do not make loud noises, chase, fight, or play musical instruments during rest hours. Do not play cards, gamble, smoke, or consume alcohol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        6\u3001Pay attention to safety, protect public property, conserve water and electricity, do not connect electrical wires without authorization. The use of electric stoves, electric blankets, candles, alcohol, gasoline, and other flammable or dangerous items is strictly prohibited. Do not accommodate outsiders without permission, do not throw objects downstairs or out of windows, compensate for damaged public property, and avoid leaving campus or being absent from the dormitory overnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        7\u3001Clean the dormitory promptly, maintain tidy floors and walls, ensure ceilings and walls are free of cobwebs, keep window glass bright and free of water stains, and arrange daily necessities in a standardized and uniform manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        8\u3001Report emergencies to the houseparent and management staff promptly. During holidays and weekends, return home on time and do not linger in the dormitory or outside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \u516d\u3001\u00a0Houseparents<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        Each floor of the dormitory is equipped with at least one houseparent who manages students’ daily lives. Students can promptly reach a teacher for any daily living issues. Houseparents are not only responsible for caring for students but also serve as their mentors, paying attention to students’ emotions and adaptation to dormitory life, guiding them in personal organization, time management, and cultivating independent living skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        The dormitory area is also equipped with 24-hour security and medical support, providing students with a safe living and learning environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
